These tests should be undertaken at times of least risk.
Regularly inspect the system for cleanliness, particularly luminaires. battery banks and generators should be checked in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.
Annually
Test the self-contained and central battery systems by simulating failure of the normal lighting supply, for a period of at least one hour.
Monthly
Test the escape lighting by simulating failure of the normal lighting supply. Allow sufficient time to check all luminaires.
Firecover ensure that the client has understanding in the use and application of the fire equipment and has sufficient knowledge in the event of their responsibilities to carry out monthly inspections. The checks are to include that the lights are in the correct location or suffered obvious damage.
